Not that I don't enjoy NCAA football, but I do love this time of year when the NFL is on all the time. I love the commercial with the wife talking about football being onall the time. I hope my wife is like that, its pretty doubtfull at this point. Anyway, the NFLN is continuing to sell shitty games that won't get their network on every providers list with these two games. Will I watch them, of course.
Before we get to the early games, I think we need to mention the fact that you set the new high for wins in a week with 13, congrats. On another note, you only made up one game on me with your 13-2-1 performance, because yours truly finished 12-3-1 this week myself. Who else can give you all this kind of quality week in and week out? Ok, I guess we don't give quality every week, but still, that's pretty good, no?

Denver (Pk) over HOUSTON: I am not sure what Houston does at home vs on the road, but I won’t pick this team to win to often unless Schaub and Andre Johnson are both healthy. Sage had a pretty good game last week, and I don’t think he does it two weeks in a row. Denver rolled last week and that definitely isn’t happening again, but I still think they are the better team. I may revisit this on my own, it is a tough pick with two poor teams, and I am currently picking the road team in a prime time game. We will see.
Denver (pk) over HOUSTON: In a sport like football (and basketball), where there is a well-placed salary cap, where teams aren't allowed to spend frivolously, how long does it take for an expansion team to start to excel? It's been almost six years since the Texans came into the league, so it may be too early to start expecting them to win lots of games. With that said, I still don't trust them, and you made an excellent point about Schaub and Johnson. I'll take the team with a little more experience at coach, defense, and skill positions.
I couldn’t agree more, I have something to add the expansion question. David Carr has been the guy they have tried to build the team around until this year, and I think we can now say with confidence that he is a terrible NFL QB. This probably set them back two years from your normal expansion team.
Cincinnati (-8.5) over SAN FRANCISCO: What is that you said? Oh, yes, the Patriots will be getting the second pick because SF will not win again. Cincy is a bit under rated I think because they have played a pretty tough sched. I know I have been dogging them a lot, but the truth is that they are bad at winning against good teams. This on the other hand is not a good team. They covered this spread last week against a St Louis team that is probably better. San Fran can’t really run the ball, and they definitely can’t throw it. This means their only chance at winning is by stopping the pretty potent offense of Cincy. That isn’t very likely, considering they are 22nd in the league for total defense, and 25th against the run, so we might actually get a nice showing out of your boy Rudi. This is a great teaser too, but I still think a ten point win should be easy.
Cincinnati (-8.5) over SAN FRANCISCO: You did quite a lot of research on this game, so thank you. Originally, you had sent me a couple teasers and parlays you were thinking about, and I remember thinking, "The Bengals better be playing at home against my high school's football team, or Joker is crazy." Turns out, it's pretty much a fair analogy. Well done, Joker.
